Sewing Workshop - Basic

If you have never done any sewing before and you are willing to learn how to sew, this is the right class for you. During this workshop you will learn how to use the sewing tools, how to operate the sewing machine and all the different types of seams and finishes. This is a foundation course for any of our Advanced Sewing & Patternmaking Workshops offered below. This is a basic level workshop quidded by a Fashion Design Professional with many years of teaching experience at local and international University Education Institutions.

• Age Requirement: 15 and above 
• Average Class Size: 2-10
• Duration: 2 sessions 3h each total 6h
• Price $240

Refreshments will also be served after the workshop.  

• How to use sewing tools
• Types of sewing machines and equipment
• Operation and threading of sewing machine
• Application of interfacings and hemming finishes
• Different types of seams and their application

Instruction notes, all sewing tools and domestic sewing machines are provided.

Fabric is not included. Participants should bring 1m of plain white color cotton fabric (non stretchable).

Monday 9:00am-12:00pm or Saturday 2:00pm-5:00pm

 Alternative days can be also arranged.

Patternmaking & Sewing 102-106 are advanced workshops that require the participants to already have a knowledge in the Basic Sewing techniques offered in our Sewing Basics 101 above. Each course is designed to guide the participants from the initial stage of pattern drafting to the final stage of assembling and sewing the garment. The participants will be using their personal body measurements in order to learn how to produce personalised garments. This is a professional level workshop quidded by a Fashion Design Professional with many years of teaching experience at local and international University Education Institutions. Lessons are held at a third party premises with domestic overlock and sewing machines.

• Class Level: Advanced
• Age Requirement: 15 and above 
• Average Class Size: 2-10
• Duration: 4 sessions 3h each total 12h
• Price $480 for one workshop

Refreshments will also be served after the workshop.  

• How to produce and read the block and pattern pieces 
• How to position the pattern pieces and cut the fabric
• Handling & usage of domestic overlock and sewing machine
• How to assemble the garment trough all the phases

Instruction notes, all sewing tools and domestic sewing machines are provided.

Fabric is not included. On the first session the participants will be given instruction of the type of fabric and accessories they should provide for the sewing lessons.
